They say the first step to recovery is admitting there is a problem. Well, I’m stepping up to admit – there’s a problem – or at least there has been.

This year can be chalked up to one of the most trying years, both emotionally and financially. There was something overwhelming, urging me to take time away, regroup and figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up, again!

Is this what they mean by midlife crisis?

Following the horrible Indiana flood of 2008 and a financially devastating divorce in early 2009 – I felt like doing very little besides curling up in a ball and processing through my own little pity party. Well, that’s over and thanks to my online friend and inspiration, John Chow, I’m brushing my knees off, holding my head up and getting back in the game to do what I do best – make money online.

While swimming my phase of self pity – I heard little voices haunting me (not those kind of voices, voices of friends and bloggers I used to manage). I’ve been reminded several times that it’s not everyone who can speak of online success, let alone to the tune of $100,000 plus in a single year. Many have urged me to put pen to paper and share details of my journey as a single mother of twins to becoming a full-time work at home mother and internet professional.

Frankly I’m tired of writing about things that I’m not passionate about. As part of my shifting gears, I will be sharing details of my online successes with readers and will be working hard behind the scenes to put together an eBook that will provide details I’d rather keep to a more private and intimate level of sharing. Make sure you sign up for my newsletter. Those who are on the newsletter list will be the first to receive the premiere copy scheduled for completion very soon.

After reading John Chow’s Seven Habits of Highly Successful Bloggers, I am feeling terrible that I allowed myself to get so far removed.

- I’ve not blogged on a consistent basis

- I’ve lost the passion for the topics I wrote about

- I’ve lost that connection with my readers I once had

- I’ve been lame as heck on link love

- I might as well flush my former brand

The two habits that remain intact through my pitiful journey has been my love of writing and the fact I read John Chow religiously.

With those two habits still in place, I feel the foundation is still solid on which to rebuild.

I’m so excited to be heading off in this new direction – it’s been a long time since I’ve felt this fired up and passionate about anything so don’t mind me if I bask in the warm glow just a little longer.
