RSS

Some time ago, I learned a little tip to help increase RSS subscriptions – it may seem obvious to some – but to others it might be more of an ‘ah-ha’ experience.

You should include an RSS subscription button on the top of every single page. In many cases, RSS subscriptions will increase considerably and oftentimes you’ll see the benefits right away.

The two best places to put the RSS subscription button are the header and the top of the sidebar. Also if you are only using a text link to your RSS feed perhaps you should consider adding an icon next to it that’s clearly visible (feel free to use the one I used in this post).

Visitors need to be able to see where they should click to subscribe in a matter of seconds, otherwise they will just skip it.

My way of saying “Thank You!”

My Comment Commitment: If you leave an approved comment on any of my posts, I will visit your blog and “share it” in some way whether on StumbleUpon, Twitter or Facebook depending on if I can find a nice fit.
