What is People String?

People String is a social media site that launched on September 23, 2009. People String is making a bold attempt to compete with giants like Facebook by paying anyone and everyone to recruit members and grow its ranks. While it may be a considerable challenge to grow membership, advertisers are confident this approach will work.

Members get paid to remain active on the site and for being exposed to advertising. They share 70% of the profits with other members as long as they log in regularly. Owners are banking on this being money well spent and far less expensive than the massive campaign it would take to convert millions of Facebook users.

People String has the potential to be quite lucrative, for those willing to recruit on their behalf on an ongoing basis. Members get 5% of revenue generated by their direct recruits and 2% of all those they recruit – up to 6 levels deep. Simple math can show the revenue potential can become quite significant. For those not interested in recruiting others, the remaining income streams may be more to their liking and more are to be added over time.

People String is bound to become a popular online hot spot.

Join People String now and begin getting paid to do what you love to do!

Lately I’ve been having very vivid dreams which is actually unusual for me. Oh, I know everyone dreams, but I’m one of those who rarely remembers them.

Anyone know why that is exactly?

The dream I had last night was focused around my status update on Facebook of all things. Yes, Mark Zuckerberg, and Facebook have finally infiltrated my dreams. With my love of all things social media, it was bound to happen.

Having been laid off from my primary contract gig a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been shopping around to replace the income I’ve lost. Since I’ve been working online for well over 13 years now, naturally this thing called social media has become a rather large part of who I am; personally and professionally.

I search. I ponder. I apply. I ponder more. I read. I learn, and then… then, I dream.

Since being introduced to the Internet in 1998, I have had an undying love and appreciation for all it’s magical wonders. I can easily see me working for a social giant. The big stopper is my deep roots and responsibilities as a wife, mother and daughter come first. That means the social giant will have to be in Indiana.

Yesterday I took my daydreaming outside. It was a warm day, and with a view like the one shown in the image below, how could I not take in as much of that I possibly could?

Isn’t that gorgeous?

I carried THAT view into my dream.

If you look toward the middle-right of that picture, you can barely see the backside of building. This building:

paddock building

Formerly a business know as The Paddock is an amazing state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot facility built in 2001. The building was occupied by a muscle car parts distribution center, then vacated early summer 2010 due to economic downturn and bankruptcy.

And this image (Facebook business locations)

facebook locations

All three factors came together in this one dream.

facebook like

I think Knightstown would be an awesome location for a new Facebook facility! Or any technology driven company for that matter. But FACEBOOK, the worlds most social online destination combined with the influence of Hoosier hospitality (which is very simply Southern charm, one generation removed)  would be epic!

Indiana is a great state for technology/Internet based businesses. We have Amazon, and just yesterday, news broke of Litebox coming to the Hoosier state.

I’m sure Mitch Daniels would be on board. Mitch has been shining recently with his efforts (and incentives) at attracting just such companies.

Hollywood thought enough of Knightstown to film Hoosiers here. Alec Baldwin has stopped off in Knightstown. Alec stopped off on a road trip across U.S. 40 to dine at the local Knightstown Cafe.

I even envision employees wearing those adidas sandals Zuckerberg is so famous for wearing.

Some dream huh?

Finding Facebook Join Date & Why Facebook Needs Tom!

Wow, finding the date you originally joined Facebook is not an easy task.

While updating my online resume, to spotlight my history in social media, networking and marketing, I thought it would be interesting to pinpoint the actual date I signed up for Facebook.

I do remember joining Facebook during my earliest b5media days. Since that was the case, I thought perhaps the Facebook friendships I have with the earliest members of b5media might be a good place to start.

When you click on a Facebook friends profile – at the far right, just above the images of friends you both have in common, there is a link “See Friendship” – if you click that link, you will open a page that has all the interaction between you and that friend along with the month and year your friendship on Facebook was formed.

This is why I think Facebook needs Tom!

I do know I was a member of Facebook for several weeks before I actually jumped in and began utilizing it’s features – so with all that information, I checked a few profiles and wha-la – I am now in the ballpark of when I actually joined Facebook.

facebook-birthdays Hereafter, my Facebook anniversary will be recognized in April 2007 along with my Twitter birthday of April 4, 2007.

Once I had that information, I became curious of just how soon after Facebook opened up to the public I’d actually joined.

Facebook actually opened up to anyone over the age of 13 with a valid email address in September 2006. So I guess I can call myself a Facebook veteran.

What about you? Do you know your actual “social age” as it pertains to the top social networks of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn?

By the way – Finding the date you joined Twitter is so much easier – simply visit When Did You Join Twitter, enter your username and in seconds you’ll have your Twitter birthday!
